| Tokyo, Japan-November 15, 2002-The Association for the Study of Failure filed its final
			 set of forms with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government. It is now formerly established as a
			 Non-Profit Organization (NPO) of Tokyo. The registered date of its establishment is
			 November 8th, 2002, the date Dr. kenji iino filed the NPO registration form to the
			 Shinjuku office of Tokyo Legal Affairs Bureau.  
			 "I wonder what our formal name in English is," says Dr. iino, 
			 "Our formal name in Japanese is pronounced [ TOKUTEI HIEIRI KATUDOU HOUJIN
			 SHIPPAI GAKKAI ], which means, Corporation that conducts specific activities that is
			 non-profitable, the Association for the Study of Failure. It took about six months since
			 we had our first preparation meeting, and 3 round trips from San Jose, California, 3 visits
			 to the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Office, and 2 visits to the Tokyo Legal Affairs
			 Bureau. I am now an expert on registerting NPO's within Tokyo. In any case, I am happy to
			 have completed the painful procedure before our first scheduled general assembly on
			 December 9th." 
			 The first general assembly will start at 10:00am and will have several pronouned invited
			 speakers as well as a lecture by Dr. Yotaro Hatamura at the end. The assembly will be
			 followed by a reception in the same Yayoi Hall in the Department of Agriculture, the
			 University of Tokyo. The formal language of the assembly will be Japanese. 
			 The assembly is admission free to all registered members of the association. The
			 association will take on-site registration on the day of the assembly. Registration with the
			 association has a one time fee of 3,000JPY and the annual fiscal year membership is
			 7,000JPY. The association will not register corporate members on the day of the
			 assembly.
